Who it is for: Anyone who needs a read-only list of assets and objects SI already saw on the connected server.
Who it is not for: Anyone looking for an editable CMDB or a “certified” inventory.
What it does
Lists what was observed: people, assets, endpoints, governance objects — whatever the platform exposes. Each row has a source.
What it is for in the company
After Platforms is AVAILABLE: “what did we see?” Open an object, read provenance, then relationships.
What it does not do
It does not invent assets. It does not change the remote system. It is not the company system of record. If Platforms is down, the list is empty — that is correct.
Where alerts and reports go
Inventory does not open tickets. Object anomalies go to Signals.
